How does one fully remove the stand from an EG270 monitor?

How does one fully remove the stand from an EG270 monitor? The instructions are unhelpful. I want to fully remove the stand in order to mount the monitor on a VESA adjustable desk arm. I have raved the base, but the arm does not seem to pull out and I see no plastic tab that might be depressed to release the arm.

I have removed the two slot screws at the bottom of the round base and have removed the base. I also removed the small rectangular metal plate at the bottom of the plastic arm. This revealed three phillips head screws deep within the plastic arm. I removed these and this allowed me to remove the plastic arm. All that is left is a short (approx. 3–4") metal piece that is attached to the monitor. See the attached image.

Anyone have an answer?

I just bought two of these monitors and I have the same issue. there is an ugly metal stump sticking out of the monitor. How do we remove it.

We can't remove it.

Hi. After staring at the back of the monitor for some time, I think that the metal stump cannot be removed. Thankfully, it is does not extend below the monitor so is not visible from the front. Once a desktop VESA mount is attached, it won't be seen if your desk is in front of a wall.

I'm trying to get more info from Acer on how to remove it. It pretty much has to come off some way, to get the rest disassembled for repair.

After looking at my unit, I think it is probably possible, but only if one removes the back of the monitor casing (which would likely void the warranty).

And that does seem to be the case. You have to split the case halves in order to get to the screws for removing the stand fully. And it would likely void your warranty, but that is going to be locale specific. I'd just leave it there at least until it's out of warranty then revisit it. By then you are likely to be used to it.
