Predator Helios 300 PH315-52 A single issue gave birth to multiple ones

I am frustrated to the point of crying. Here's what happened, I was doing my usual stuff like watching anime then suddenly the screen began flickering (like this https://youtu.be/vyBvGFjapZk). I've done uninstalling the display drivers (didn't work), check BIOS (didn't work), check safe mode (didn't work), and Factory Reset (didn't work). Acer Service Center is on another island and I cant travel because of strict COVID-19 protocol and I have no money since I'm student and life in the PH is poor and expensive (Laptop isn't fully paid because my mother borrowed money from loans). So I took the liberty to take matters into my own hands (I know how things work when opening a laptop). So I opened the LCD, disconnected and connected the cables, and I pressed the power button and then... It's not powering on (another issue)! No keyboard lights and nothing. I plugged in the charger and it seems to be charging but even that doesn't turn the laptop on. So I opened the Laptop, this time the actual hardware. I disconnected the battery and did a discharge thingy by holding the power button for 1 minute and then after that I connected it and put the lid on and still doesn't work. To make things worse, the charge indicator isn't glowing anymore (issue number 3). Now it's totally dead.

I really need help and a guide for my Laptop please.

  • Did you plug in the battery and install the lowercase again, before turning on the laptop?

I had the same issue but with the webcam. I took it to the Acer repair and ended up in the same situation as above. It was the most depressing time of my life in last five years. Main culprit here was the EDP cable which gets damaged by frequent opening/closing the lid and shorted the board while reconnecting. Fortunately, I received a replacement, but again after a few months webcam went dead. Having a hindsight I ignored the issue as I don't require webcam that much. But seeing people going through the same issue i.e. first webcam/screen then dead board worries me a lot.
I can see my EDP cable has also started wearing, Is there any way we can protect the EDP cable from degrading?

How to discharge the board? I did a discharge by unplugging the battery cables and holding power on for a couple of seconds. I don't know if that's the correct way

    That's correct.
  • Were there electrical problems in your home before the display failed?
