Why does my Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53 keep destroying batteries?

The second battery for my Acer Predator Helios 300 just died (when unplugged, the laptop will not turn on even though the battery reads as 100%). This has happened before, around 1 month after I purchased the laptop, the battery died. This time, my laptop battery died within ~3 months of use. Any ideas as to what the cause of this could be? The first time the battery died I tried removing and reinserting it, though that did not fix the issue. I read somewhere that plugging the charging cable into a wall socket while the laptop is attached to the charger can damage the battery, however, after the first battery was destroyed I made a habit of avoiding this scenario.

Laptop model: Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53

This time reconnecting the battery seemed to fix this issue for now. Is there something wrong with my battery connector?
