Hello, I have a laptop Acer Aspire 7 A715-72G-78UY. Is it possible to upgrade internal SSD (M.2-2280)?
If yes, is it possible to install CT1000P2SSD8?
If yes is there any instruction how to do it?

    Hi @morozovars,

A storage bay that allows for installation of a secondary 2.5" hard drive or solid state drive. Moreover, the unit Supports 7mm and 9.5mm co-lay. ... 2 2280 for SSD (PCIe/SATA Co-lay). The HDD up to 2TB & SSD up to 512GB.

I don not consider this CT1000P2SSD8 a high end drive, just 2,400 MB/s read, why upgrade to it? Why don't get some high end drives such as SS 970 EVO Pro, SS 980, WD SN 970 black, SK Hynix Gold P31, Silicon Power A80...etc? They are all 3,400 MB/s read drives.

    Hi,
Yes, you can use a Crucial P2 M.2 NVMe SSD in your model, the instructions are in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPE0YCWFsQY

Thank you for the answer. In the same day I was install everything and work with new SSD. Thank you!

For me was the porblem that not enough space (my previous one was 128 Gb). Performance was ok for me. I just checked the prices, it seems that your suggestions is more expensive, than CT100P2SSD8. But

Yes, better performance comes with a price. Personally, I think a app. 20% higher price for 42% increase in performance is worth it. The Silicon Power A80 is the lowest price one and I am using it as the default drive with this PC that I am typing this message.

Also, people like to use Crucial's program to determine possible upgrades, most likely Crucial's product. Good marketing strategy for Crucial.

I have a new laptop with just 128 GB NVMe SSD too. There is only about 30-40 GB left after Win 11 and other programs loaded. This 30-40GB is not enough if I want to access the data that I accumulated through the years. I have no intention to upgrade this M.2 NVMe SSD in the future, as I added a 500GB 2.5" SATA3 SSD on the side for the data storage. Also, I have external USB HDDs that store the data that I accumulated. For economic purpose, the external USB HDD is the best, but slowest.

What is important is the boot drive being the M.2 NVMe SSD, where the performance of the PC heavily relying on it. Capacity is not too important as long as it has enough spare rooms left.

    Hi

I was wondering why this is. Why doesn't it allow a 2TB SSD? What is the difference between having an SSD or HDD in terms of the machine connection itself?

I am trying to upgrade my Aspire 7 A715-72g and wanted to buy a 1TB SSD to add in the extra slot, so I am trying to understand how that would be possible.

    Thank you.
