Acer Swift 3 SF314-42 keyboard issues

Hello.
I recently purchased this laptop from the BestBuy marketplace. It worked fine for a while but since upgrading to Windows 11 it has been nothing but trouble.

My keyboard regularly stops working or reverts to weird settings. My usual keyboard shortcuts to get it back don't seem to work. Currently it will not type any special characters in the number line but the shift key works everywhere else.

I've also struggled with not being able to use punctuation correctly and random characters typing instead. This seems to solve by adjusting the language settings. I am using US currently but was using Canada (frought with issues) and UK (semi worked)

I had some other issues with graphics display that I seem to have solved by reinstalling drivers but I cannot find a driver for the keyboard here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/8263?b=1

Admittedly I'm a little sad as this was supposed to be a gift to myself. I haven't bought a laptop in 5 years and I specifically bought this one because it was supposed to be pleasant to type on! How ironic.

I do not know if this is a Windows 11 issue or a laptop issue. It does seem the problems started after upgrading. I have not made the attempt to downgrade but that may be my next attempt. Physically the laptop appears minty (brand new). However since upgrading it has crashed multiple times, frequently freezes and won't turn back on after it has been sleeping. It's been better the last couple days but it's concerning.

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

I'd give the downgrade a try before pointing fingers anywhere. The juxtaposition of the failure might just be coincidence. I haven't seen any keypress issues with W11 and I have the OS on several machines now, but you may have gotten a corrupted install.

    Hi @keco86,

Did you try to update the keyboard driver.

Try giving Windows 11 a fresh start. There may be a malfunction from the upgrade process. I use Windows 11 with my SF314-42 and everything works smoothly.
