Hi, my Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54 has a Thunderbolt 4 port, but I've connected a Thunderbolt 3 to dual HDMI adapter to it and the laptop posts a notification saying:

USB or Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited.

I have all the drivers installed, and I'm pretty sure TB4 is backwards compatible with TB3. Any ideas on what could be the issue? Anyone experienced this before?

This is the device: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08DV31YLV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks in advance.

The keyword is 'might'. Which also means 'might not'. Yes the TB4 port should be fully backward compatible with a TB3 device. However, it also means that your WavLink TB3 device might not have all the functionality of say a WavLink TB4 device for example.
