Today my 1.5 year old Acer Predator Helios 300 has completely shutoff. The battery light is off (I am trying to charge it at the moment), and so is the “lightbulb” light. I’ve tried pressing the power button, holding it, and nothing has happened.

I am not sure what the issue was. At the moment it turned off, I was putting it under relatively light load: Discord and a live stream playing on the laptop monitor, and I was playing Minecraft on a second MSI monitor hooked up to the laptop. I had the fans set to max, the laptop on a cooling pad, and on top of that, I had a fan for my room pointed at it (just to be safe because I am aware of how hot the laptop can get at times).

Because of all the precautions I have taken, I don’t think overheating was the issue at that moment.

I will say that the past couple of nights I did put the laptop under some heavy loads: I had a friend’s stream open on the laptop monitor as I was playing a more intense game (Destiny 2) on my second monitor, and this time I didn’t have the room fan pointed at it, and the temps were still reaching 90s at their peak, even with the internal fans at max and cooling pad on.

Does anyone have suggestions?

I just want to preface: the laptop is not turning on. Just in case that wasn’t already clear.

I have tested my charger with a multimeter and it is definitely working. I tried doing a power drain (there isn’t a pin hole and the battery isn’t made to be easily removable, so I had to just press the power button for a minute). After letting it rest for a bit, I have plugged it in to charge and the charging light on the laptop is still not lighting up. I assume the laptop is still not charging.
