Laptop doesn't turn on without plugging in the charger - Aspire a314-22

Acer laptop (Aspire a314-22) doesn't start on battery. When I start it on battery,it only shows the blue light led blinking for a few seconds.

It just turns on only after plugging in the charger.

Then, it continues to run even without the charger plugged in. It also shows the correct % level of the battery.

How to fix this?

Shut down machine normally. Remove charger. Insert paperclip into reset pinhole on bottom for about a minute. Plug charger back in but wait for battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue. Then unplug charger again. Try to start on battery alone.

# Try to update the battery driver

1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
2. Choose the device manager option.
3. Go with the option battery.
4. Under the title battery.

5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
6. Choose "search automatically". 

Check this T/S and post the result. ​

I tried this and my laptop still doesn’t turn on, the orange light keeps blinking…

here’s what happening to me

My laptop will charge the battery fully when it’s plugged in and turn on, the battery will last for over 3 hours once it’s turned on, but if I shut down the Laptop it won’t power back on unless plug it back into the charger.

Keep in mind once the charger is plugged in the laptop can be turned on and it will charge normally and hold a very good charge, I can turn it on while plugged in and charge the battery but if it’s shutdown and not plug back in it will not turn back on unless I plug a charger in it (type c charger or original Acer charger.

Model is Acer travelmate x314-51-m-51n6

While the battery might be able to keep the machine running after it's booted, it might not be strong enough to deliver the initial power surge needed for startup. Sorta like a weak car battery that needs a jump start. How old's the battery?

I bought an acer 17 nov of 2023 i have powered it on maybe half of a dozen times i noticed it now only turns on once I connect it to power. Once powered it can be unplugged and works fine. Did I get a bad battery should I RMA it? I just tried updating the battery drivers but it didn’t change anything I also ran the acer care battery checkup and it says status good
