Help, I bought my son his first computer for Christmas and was told it was a simple stick the leads in and go set up. After looking around for help on the internet I think the problem is the extra 8g RAM that was inserted by the shop attendant when I bought it.

I bought the Nitro 50 N50-620 GAM DTP.
I've rung the shop back who was terribly unhelpful wanting me to drive 2 hours back into a Covid hotspot for them to have a look at it.
I've rung Acer but they are closed for the public holidays.
I'm hoping someone from this community would be able to help me.

First did you read the N50-620 Manual? As that has all the starting guides and procedures for your desktop! Also what is the spes of the new 8GB RAM stick that the retail shop fitted to your N50-620? As installing the wrong RAM and populating the DIMM modules incorrectly and/or not installing them correctly will cause faults and a boot fault as the RAM should be according to the table below. There are allot of variables that could go wrong but and with a new desktop it should be a plug and play procedure and there should not be anything stopping the desktop booting.

Give us more details as I’m including the RAM specs and slot 1 to 4 and how they should be populated to the N50-620's various capacities with RAM into its 4x slots in the list below (btw, the markigs for which slot 1 to  4 is should be written on the motherboard and next to the DIMM slots).

IMPORTANT When installing DIMM modules, populate the DIMM slots according to the table below:
