Orion 3000 PO3-630G-UW91

Just got this desktop for my kid for Christmas. How do I know what additional Ram to pick up tomorrow. I want to go to 16gb of ram unless it makes more sense to just go to 32gb (2 sticks of 16). Does the 32gb pair well with the rest of the system specs (including the 1660 super good)? How do I know what 3200 ram to get that isn’t the XMP. Does the Bios not allow for XMP?

Please help.

Turn the PO3-630 on and run this Crucial System Scanner that will give you all the memory and SSD drive upgrades for your PC that Crucial makes and its 100% correct and a very good guide to the specs that your desktop is suited for, btw XMP ram is not suitable for these desktops as they need to be overclocked through the bios and this desktop does not have that feature, use the standard and the recommended ram from the scan. If you want 16GB total then get a 2x 8GB matching kit as that is the best but, if you have 8GB OEM then match that existing stick specs that you got, to find out the exact specs so you can match and have 2x virtually identical sticks specs install >>>CPUz<<< and look in their Memory and SPD section for the manufacturer and specs of that memory. It’s a simple process.

Perfect. This is very helpful. I will do this on Christmas morning. Anyone know if it is worth it from a performance stance to upgrade to 32gb (16x2)? Or just stick with 16

@HelpPlease123 Did you get it upgraded and check/verify that it’s running 3200mhz still? I bought my son the same PC and need to upgrade the RAM but can only find XMP profile Ram that scales down to 2133. I can’t find any other matching 3200 non XMP for sale anywhere
