@axd the RAM is soldered to the motherboard and there is no empty RAM slot.

Sorry to say that answer is incorrect. Here are the specs:
    System Memory:
    • DDR4 SDRAM support
    • 4 GB of single-channel, onboard DDR4 system memory
    • Up to 8 GB DDR4 system memory, upgradable of 12 GB of dual-channel DDR4 system memory using a single soDIMM module.
So there is 4GB installed on the motherboard, plus a SO-DIM socket that either comes empty or populated with a 4GB module. You can put a 8GB module in to max the memory out at 12GB total. Here are the details:

    Hi @axd,

Acer Swift 3 SF314 Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 12GB Memory. The Laptop has 2 Slots (1 Upgradable) to install memory, already with 4GB (Soldered) standard memory installed.

@Easwar, it's probably better to word that as "The laptop has two banks of memory, one of which is socketed so may or may not be populated." The is only one slot, since a slot is designated as a socket for a memory stick.
