Just got my new Aspire 5, A515,which should supply 8 hours of battery life. But I am always skeptical of these long batter life claim from all manufactures. Still! I would like to know what is the best method to ensure the battery in my new PC last for as long as possible today and a few years down the road. Is there any information on Acer website on how to properly break in a new battery in, condition it and to make it last for years?

Thanks

Not really. Best advice is not to let it drain below a critical charge level of about 5%. This can permanently damage the battery. Windows battery charge monitor will warn you when the charge level drops below about 10% and time to plug the charger back in. New replacement batteries are very inexpensive these days for most laptops, especally for the A5 series.

It's not a lead-acid battery. It's a lithium-ion battery. Are you actually supposed to add water?
