I have an Aspire A317-52 with Windows 11 upgrade on Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. How can I change or add the "Storage Controller" Intel driver to Samsung SSD driver because the Samsung Magician do not see the attached drive and when I want to upgrade the driver to Samsung SSD driver it says "Can't see the Samsung SSD drive, please attach drive first". I already tried to modify the BIOS but unfortunately  I did not find anything for PCIe or NVMe or other hard drive configuration possibility.

Please post a phone photo of the BIOS INFORMATION tab.

Samsung Magician or drivers don't work in Intel RST mode, they need AHCI mode and it's not worth the hassle switching to AHCI mode because I found that there's not much difference between Samsung driver and Microsoft driver.

Do you know any app for checking the state of the EVO drive other than the Magician?

The other problem, if I can't use the Magician I can't update the EVO firmware. Do you think there is any other solution to do that?

You can download and install Crystal DiskInfo program, it will give you the health status, if you have bought the SSD recently it may have the latest firmware.

Can you please post a phone photo of the BIOS Information tab to confirm iRST mode. IMO, it is not one of Intel's better ideas and I change all mine to ACHI mode due to RST compatibility issues with other systems that I use. It can be changed without too much effort by following these instructions

    (1) Press WIN+R. Enter 'msconfig'.
    (2) Select msconfig boot tab.
    (3) Check SAFE boot mode
    (4) Shut down Windows normally.
    (5) Turn machine back on and immediately tap F2 to enter BIOS menu
    (6) Change SATA mode in Main tab from irst with optane to ahci (if option unavailable you might have to first set and save a BIOS supervisor password. Then re-enter the BIOS with the password to disable secure boot. Then reenter the BIOS again with the password to change SATA mode)
    (7) After booting into SAFE boot, the AHCI drivers should now be loaded
    (8) Press WIN+R. Enter 'msconfig' again.
    (9) Select msconfig boot tab.
    (10) Uncheck SAFE boot mode
    (11) Shut down Windows normally
    (12) Turn machine back on to boot Windows in normal AHCI mode.
