I have Acer Nitro An517-41 ryzen 5800h rtx 3060 want to replace the blobs of pink paste used on vrm memory etc. with pads witch will be better. Any acer engineer know correct sized I need to use? Also there are a couple of thermal pads already being used so I need to replace those. Looking for correct sized pads for any pink things already being used in my laptop.

    Hi @ eegeneson
A replacement for this pink paste will be either 1.5mm thermal pad or k5-pro. I used k5-pro for months and haven't noticed any VRAM throttling.

K5 PRO is ideal for this case. Just make sure that you place enough quantity. All surface of VRAMS should be covered with a layer of K5 PRO at least 1.5mm thick. If you do it correctly then you should even expect a slight frame rate increase compared to factory pads.

hello, i also have an517-41 laptop with 3060 gpu and 5600h cpu, and I have applied 1mm thick thermal pads on VRAM. Ive checked the thickness with plasticine and it came out to be 1mm gap (between VRAM and heatsink), did I put the right size thermal pad? Or should I change it to 1.5mm? thank you!
