So I have an Acer nitro 5, the model is AN515-43. The specs are AMD ryzen 5 3550H, AMD radeon Vega 8 graphics as integrated, High performance gpu is an Nvidia GTX 1650, 8GB RAM but only 6Gb usable. So I recently reset my pc entirely due to issues with the fps after I changed some settings in the summer and I messed up the gpu completely. The FPS drops still occur even after a complete reset, from what I've seen from people with similar issues they have to upgrade their RAM, I've already gone into the Nvidia control panel and changed the gpu it uses to process programs, doesn't help one bit. Even Low-spec games like roblox have major drops for a few seconds, making most games unplayable.

I do plan on upgrading RAM but I never had this problem till the summer, thanks for help in advance.

    Hi @Amaterasu,

Sudden FPS drop is always due to a bottleneck when some action starts going on in the game that is beyond what your system is normally capable of. The most common bottlenecks are due to: A lot of extra action suddenly going on-screen which your GPU isn't capable of handling.

Try to run your computer in a cool place and check if there is proper airflow available at the bottom of the laptop. If the problem still persists, undervolt the CPU and the GPU. Let me know if Nitrosense did the job, if not, try undervolting. If the problem still persists, undervolt the CPU and the GPU.

@Easwar Yo, so I recently got this laptop stand thing which allows me to mount my laptop, leaving the fans and exhaust areas more open. My room is fairly cool and I have my fan running most of the time. I haven't tried undervolting the CPU and/GPU. I have ordered 16 gigs of RAM which are arriving around Jan 13th. Will extra RAM solve the issue?
