i use google chrome and use the "better battery" option in the settings. i heard the battery was supposed to last 8-10 hours, but i get at most ~7.5 until it hits 15%. last night i shared my screen on discord on a call with friends and it only lasted 5.5 hours. is this normal? i assume so but i wish my battery life was longer

@emibox1003 it would depend more on the brightness setting, background apps, volume level, and type of browser.

i haven't downloaded much. i've only used chrome and spotify together consistently and that's when my laptop is at most ~7.5 hours. i turned off chrome in the background too. i want to stay using it but it eats my battery...

Typically the biggest battery hogs are screen brightness and radio transmissions. If you have a HDD instead of SSD that will pull more juice than WiFi/Bluetooth. If you aren't using Bluetooth turn it off, set the screen brightness as low as you can and make sure you have as little running in the background as possible for the longest battery life.

It looks like your model has a 500gB NVMe SSD installed, so that should help with battery life. Check your screen brightness, but it sounds like you are doing fairly well with things setup the way they are now. If you aren't using the laptop outdoors you can run the screen much dimmer than if you have to view it in the brighter light.
