Launch Manager/Media Button Driver Windows 8

Hello,

 

I have an Acer Aspire 5742. I recently reinstalled my Windows 8 (64 bit) OS and I need to reinstall all my drivers. I am having trouble finding the driver for my keyboard fn media buttons. In the past I beleive the driver for this was called the "Acer Launch Manager" driver, but I cannot seem to find a similar driver for Windows 8. Any help directing me to a working driver (for a previous Windows version perhaps?) would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks again for helping out. I went into BIOS and that didn't work, so I instaled the Windows 7 Launch Manager driver and that seemed to have done the trick. Not sure why the Windows 8 driver wasn't working, but all fixed now.

    Hi Spenser,

    go on acer page, then technicial support / download drivers / find Aspire 5742 and select proper OS type, and then go to Application TAB and grab Launch manager =]

    Thanks Mati for your help in this. I went to the webstite and downloaded the Launch Manager driver for my OS and restarted but my fn keys still don't seem to be working. Any other ideas on what could be done?

    some times help:

    enter to bios by press [F2] after power ON

    and load def settings [F9]

    then [F10] confirm and save

     

    and after this magick trick check if all is ok or again resinstall the LM.

    Hi everyone.I have an Acer aspire 5680 (5-6 years) laptop and i installed windows 8 32bits,everything works like a charm except Launch Manager.To be more specific the volume keys at the right of the notebook dont work , and moreover when i switch on bluetooth for example

    i dont get the green notification on the screen i had with Xp and vista compatibility mode.

    I ve tried every single solution (compatibility modes etc)and downloaded many launch manager versions but cant make the volume buttons to work.

    With windows 7 i didnt have this problem.

    Any solutions?
