Acer Aspire 3 colour issues

My laptop recently had a very strange collection of issues, it started with my screen randomly going black for a few seconds at a time(and getting longer each time) and now it is in greyscale with random bars or colour that don’t match up to where it should be or mega colour bleed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card drivers, and double checked they are up to date. No help. I’m pretty sure it is a hardware issue as it doesn’t happen when plugged into an external monitor but I’m obviously not going to walk around with a spare monitor. I have returned it to the place of purchase as it is still in its original 12 month warranty but they just sent it back saying they can’t find a fault. Any ideas on what I can do to try to fix it?

If the issues don't appear on an external monitor, then it's likely that the LCD video cable either needs to be reseated at both connectors at the base of the LCD screen and the mainboard or replaced from broken traces/wires in the hinge area due to wear and tear of opening/closing the lid. Since it's still under warranty, I suggest that you go to this link, choose your country, click the support button at the top of the country page. Then enter the machine's serial number id (SNID) and arrange for repair.
