I already have the Samsung 980 Evo NVMI pci,

the thing is that my HDD WD10SPZX just stopped working... so I want to replace it with something else of 1TB or more as an Internal Storage.

any suggestion? is that even possible? So, as I use it only as an INTERNAL STORAGE, is it even worth buying an expensive SSD to replace the WDBLUE or should I stick with the WDBLUE buying a new one? or is it best or cheaper to buy an EXTERNAL one? if so, which?

My notebook is:
Aspire 5 A515-51G-C690.

Due to budget constraint, I can narrow down to one BEST drive for you:

    https://www.amazon.com/Passport-Portable-External-Drive-Black/dp/B07VTWX8MN/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=1tb+wd+external+hard+drive&qid=1638568435&sr=8-4

If you can wait for next round of sale post Christmas, you probably can get it below USD $40, much cheaper than 2.5" SATA3 SSD of same capacity. Very good for people who do not need massive data transfer and for system image backup purposes.

I have more than half dozen external HDDs of different capacities. The one I like most is the 250GB Iomega eGO, doubt it is still in the market now. Next to it are the WD Passport drives of different capacities. You can even set a password for the drive. I always prefer WD to Segate drives based on experiences personally and my friends' feedback. Maybe the drives are not constantly connected  to the PCs, none of them failed, including some off-brand smaller capacity drives in the past decade or so.

    Hope this can help.
