Hey guys, so I have an Acer laptop, aspire E 14 E5-475G-5115. The battery of this laptop is already dead as I cannot turn it on without an ac adapter. But the problem is, sometimes it takes quite a long time to turn on the laptop. When I plug in the ac adapter to the laptop, the battery hud light goes on for like 1 minute. If I press the power button while the battery hud light is on, the screen stays black. But if I press the power button after it turns off, then the laptop will turn on. Another thing is, if I haven't used this laptop for a while, it quickly turns on like normal when I press the power button. But if I just used it yesterday, it took 5-10 minutes to turn on while pressing the power button. Also, it's futile to turn it on after the laptop shuts down. What might be the cause of this?

    Hi @ Akisato
Please try the below mentioned steps :
    >Windows update:
Open the "Settings" -> "Update & security" -> "Windows Update" and click "Check for updates". Install the update if it includes the fixes for bugs that caused Windows 10 slow boot.

    >Stop programs loading at startup
Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Del keys simultaneously to invoke Task Manager.
Then select the Startup tab and find out the unnecessary process with high startup impact and then hit Disable button.
After that, switch to the Services tab and click Open services. Select all unnecessary Microsoft services you want to disable and click on Stop.

    >Disable Fast Startup
It works in a similar manner as Hibernation. But in fact, as many users reported, it’s been causing issues.
Type power option in the search box from Start, then click Power & Sleep settings. Click Choose what the power button does.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Untick Turn on fast startup (recommended). Then Click Save Changes.
Reboot your Windows 10 and check to see if it boots quickly.

Your battery probably has an internal short. It's overwhelming the charger when you first turn it on. Causing the charger voltage to drop below the level the mainboard needs to for all the devices like the screen. Some mainboards have a circuit breaker to disconnect the battery so it doesn't burn out the charger. You also risk a fire leaving the battery in this condition connected to the mainboard. Either get a new replacement battery. They're less than $30usd. Or remove it completely and try to boot from the charger alone.
