hi hello i have the acer aspire 5 model a515-91rl and would like to know about SSD cloning for it. This model comes with a 128 gb SSD and i dont see much need for it anymore as i would prefer to upgrade to a larger size like the samsung evo 1 tb SSD. I am in the process of ordering the m2 nvme adapter needed to make to clone and will be using AOMEI. The main question is during the cloning process in general is the entire system being cloned over or can you select what parts you want such as the Windows 10 stock OS and other fundamental parts. Any help would be appreciated.

Firstly your laptop is NOT an Aspire 5 A515-91RD as there is no such model number. Anyway if your laptop is either the A515-41 or the A515-51 then the M.2 and the 2.5” drives are all SATA-3 6GB/sec type drives and an NVMe M.2 drive will not fit and/or work, you need a SATA-3 6GB/sec type M.2 with a B&M end key type.

Also, you don’t need the AOMEI software to clone a Samsung SSD drive!!! Samsung drives have the best supporting software of any SSD on the market like the “Data Migration” for cloning and the “Magician” for tuning and firmware updates and more so don't use other software! Also and always activate the TRIM cmd in windows when using SSD drives for better performance

Note: when you clone a boot drive all the boot drive is copied to the new drive that is why Samsung Data Migration is provided as it’s the best for Samsung drives.
