Would there be any way to connect a normal 2 pin pwr switch connector into this motherboard?

    Sure, the power switch is just a normal momentary contact switch. It, and the LED, are connected to the motherboard with a 14 pin header near the front of the board on the side away from the expansion slots. #11 on this diagram:
    You will want to trace the wires from the switch and LED to find out which pins are used for each function. It's possible there are other functions available on that header, such as drive status lights or a reset...
