hi! i bought predator helios rtx 3060 laptop, i7 10th gen around  may 2021,i was happy to see the latop tpd was constant arround 100w and was able to undervolt with throtlestop to reduce temp ,then i updated the vbios 105w but it never reached 105w it was always arround 100, around july 2021  i was gaming on it  with predator sense extreme performence( was playing acv) suddenly the laptop turned off and restarted, after that the battery was not charging and the laptop shut down when playing game even when connected with ac adapter. so i send it for repair to acer hoping i will get it fixed and it will be exactly like before as it came with two years official warrenty, and i had to wait almost three months to get the laptop back and i received it today. after running games,
to my disapointment acer has locked me off from undervolting and now the tdp is locked to 85w even in extreme mood, even the bios is different. what a disapointment  a very horrible experience. as all acer predator laptop should have undervolt unlocked and tdp should be 105w. i cannot even update any bios from acer support sites. i hope acer would be able to help me to make the laptop as it was before, can be undervolted and tdp should hit 100w. please help!

M009J any particular reason why you have updated the bios were u having any issues previously if no reason to update it shouldnt be updated unless there are issues that the bios notes state that would fix unfortunately theres nothing we can do all bios are locked and if they have changed the PL limits on a bios update it was to reduce the thermals to avoid mobos being fried as thats  happened  with some 10th gen in the past they are very power hungry and heat up too fast and paired with a 3000 series even worse what they have done was a security measure and  probably they had to replace your mobo because of that ??? did they said exactly what was the issue with the laptop or what did they replaced

    Hi, guys!
thank you for answering, the previous bios was 1.06 it had very beautiful predator look to it, the bios i have now is 2.01 after repair , which is insyde20h. they changed the motherboard after repair. very disapointing experience.
     i found
a way arround gpu  tdp issue- after turning on hardware accelerated gpu scheduling  the tdp is around 92-100watt.  the temp always stays below 74c even in turbo mood.
for cpu with xtu if i limit both turbo boost power max and turbo boost short power max
to 30wat the cpu temp always stays between 70-75c. just to let  you know. for now my problem is solved. thank you again for taking time to read and answer  my question.
