What is the other 3.5mm port on the back of the VG248QE for?

Got a VG248QE monitor. It has two 3.5mm ports on the back. One is obviously a headphone jack, but the other has an icon I don't recognize, and ASUS' website doesn't offer a manual download for this model (at least their search function doesn't find one).
Anybody know what the icon means and what this port is for?

When you use DVI cable which doesn't carry audio.

Its an "Audio-in port" (see 5 below) this port connects PC audio source by the bundled audio cable.

An HDMI input includes audio, right, so I don't need a separate cable to this port? When do I need it?

And the manual should be available on the Acer site, the Asus site wouldn't have it. :)
