Predator Helios 300.  Today my charge started going in and out every  1 minute or so.  I've rebooted, checked the charger to make sure it's plugged correct, plugged into a different outlet in a different room, did the battery reset (pin hole on bottom of laptop and waited for 5 minutes), uninstalled the battery drivers and rebooted. (went to these forums and looked at solutions suggested, none of these worked)  None of these have worked so far.  I also did the battery test in cmd prompt and it gave me this in the report.

DESIGN CAPACITY48,944 mWh
FULL CHARGE CAPACITY41,633 mWh

I have not made any windows changes (updates or anything like that).  I was playing a game at work today (not issues) (laptop around 1 to 2 years old) and closed it (didnt shut down).  When I got home and opened it up and started playing again, I noticed my charge went out, then would come back on.  It does it around every minute or so. Says my charge is at 96% currently.

usmdesigner77 check your battery wear with hwinfo or battery bar pro if more than 20% consider replacing it its faulty also you can try to proper re-calibrate your battery (if the wear % its not too much) completely let it discharge disconnect from power perform a battery powerdrain as mentioned above and let it charge (off) until full repeat the process 3 times for a proper calibration also check your adapter with a voltmeter to make sure its outputting the correct voltage good luck :)

Also its completely normal when gaming or any other high demanding works for the battery to kick in to help the adapter as this is the main purpose of the battery its doing what was designed for to provide the adapter with more power when this one cant provide enough to the cpu/dgpu and when this one reaches 40% you will notice a massive performance loss at this point you need to stop everything that youre doing and let it recharge to full and avoid using the laptop on battery only always on AC as you will damage it  :)

By your battery figures you should have between 10/15% wear

    DESIGN CAPACITY48,944 mWhFULL

    CHARGE CAPACITY41,633 mWh

i have 10.6% on mine but if i re-calibrate it it will go down to 8'ish and its always on non stop 24/7 since 2018

Regarding if youre overheating or not check your temps cpu shouldnt go above 85'ish and the dgpu 70/75 max and make sure you have optimized your windows properly and undervolted with TS :)

I am suspecting issue might be with the charger.   Kindly use an alternative charger and check to isolate the issue.    Try to bypass the surge protector and connect it directly to power outlet.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience..   Let us do the basic steps first..

Doing the power drain and bios defaults will really help.  Kindly follow the steps given below:

Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices or any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, you can find a  pin hole. It is a tiny hole. You can a find a battery symbol indicator next to the hole. It is like a + and – sign symbol as though somebody is trying to shift the battery out. Insert the pin on to the hole for 30 seconds. Remove the pin. Flip the laptop. Connect the charger cable, turn on the computer.  Only on laptops where the battery is inbuilt you can find the battery reset hole on the back of laptop.

If you don’t find a pin hole on the back of laptop then you might be using removable battery. There is no need to unscrew anything to remove the battery.  Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices and any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, please look at the top or bottom depending on the way you look at it. You can find a long door. It is a battery removable door.  Just below that you can find a latch.  If you move the latch you can remove the battery door. Once the battery is removed, flip the laptop. Open the top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer.

If you don’t see a reset pin hole on the back of laptop or if you are not able to remove the battery (if it is inbuilt) then please unplug all the cables and devices out of laptop.   Hold the power button for 1 minute.  After releasing the button you should wait a while before plugging in power. Just because the button has been pressed doesn’t bleed off all the residual electricity on the motherboard. Wait 15-30 minutes before plugging in power. Then once power is connected wait for a full battery indication before turning the system on. That allows the battery to fully reset it’s internal statistics.

Connect all the cables back and restart the computer.

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear.  Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

It might also be the issue with battery, charger or power outlet.   Try to use the charger in a different room on a different power outlet.  Try to bypass the surge protector and connect it directly to power outlet.    Try to use an alternative charger if possible.    Try to turn on the computer without the charger and check it  ( as long as the battery is not drained out )

    Try windows x

    go to device manager
    expand Battery
right click on all the items below battery – uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

To your above test... in my post I indicate I did the battery reset with the pin hole. I did not try the bios though.  But.....

    Update the next day.

So I'm at work now and it's not happening at all.  Do you think there is some type of over heating that is causing the issue?  Remember yesterday I said I closed the laptop and came home and opened it (game was still loaded and running the hour or so it took to get home) and my backpack I had it in was hot.  Meaning it was running the whole time.

Also, when I get home, I plug in a Mouse, Keyboard and 24 inch monitor into the laptop, then I game (currently game called Warframe)

What would cause it to stop getting power if over heating happens?   I'm just guessing on over heating due to the fact that it's not currently doing it.  Had it on for 10 minutes now and it hasn't happened.  Which means there's nothing wrong with the charger or battery.

I will say this has happened before, but the next day it stopped and I had no idea why.  I can't recall if over heating was the cause that day though as it was months back. Emphasis on months back... meaning I've been playing at the house for months without issues of this happening. (I usually turn it off before going home)

I can't say it won't happen again today, but looking to figure out is this just something I'm doing wrong that is causing this, and also is there something I can do or swap out to stop this from happening if over heating is the actual issue.  Surely this laptop is not made to heat up and start failing if it does (meaning maybe something is bad?)  But then again, the heat was pumping for an hour or so in an enclosed tight space.

Back again.  It's been since last time we posted this happened.  I thought it was just overheating but it looks like it's something else.

So I did the next step you said.  I downloaded the battery pro and it gives 2 different outcomes

When the battery is at 99% or lower the laptop is fine and there are no issues.  Battery Pro reports 29,032mWh of 29,336mWh. Charge Rate 4,347mW and Battery Wear of 40.1% of 48,944mWh

When the battery hits full charge at 100% I get capacity at 40,797mWh of 41,222mWh with Battery Wear of 15.8% of 48,944mWh

When the battery is at 100%, that's when I lose my charge and the laptop goes into a state where my keyboard is not lit up and my graphics go to *****. (Charge stops)   This is the only time it happens, is when it's at 100%

Any idea what's going on?   I just booted after it was off all night (powered off) so I know it's not over heated this time.
