How to run Aspire V3-575G without internal battery

I have a weird problem with my Aspire V3-575G laptop. Every time I play video games it stops charging. Sometimes it just switches between charging and not charging (which makes the game unplayable (the fps goes below 20) and it eventually shuts down completely).
I wanted to try and run it without it’s internal battery to test the results. I opened it up, removed the battery and tried to power it on, but nothing happened.
After I reattached the battery the laptop turned on, and then I decided to try something that I know was stupid. I disconnected the battery cable and to my surprise the laptop stayed on. I started a game and the game run perfectly.

Why wasn’t I able to turn the laptop on without the battery, but it stayed on when I removed it?
How can I force it to turn on without the battery since that solved my problem instantly?

I’m sorry about the lengthy question and if what I want to achieve is not clear enough.
Thanks in advance.

You say " I disconnected the battery cable and to my surprise the laptop stayed on. I started a game and the game run perfectly"

If the computer is working fine without the battery then it might be the issue with battery.    You can replace the battery and check.

If your laptop is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.

If it is out of warranty, please contact local store or

Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  Click on  "Repair My Acer" - Request to have your Acer product repaired.   There will be charges for repair.

Additional info to contact Acer Store:  Please visit the website - support.acer.com - chose your country - click on shop.   You can buy desktop, laptop, monitor and accessories.  Alternatively,  on the top right corner you can find the phone no to contact Acer store.   For the parts which are not available on Acer store, you have to contact local store.

When you remove the battery out of computer, you can always connect the charger to laptop and it should turn on without any issues.     Try connecting the charger directly to power outlet instead of using a surge protector.   Try to connect the charger in a different room on a different power outlet and try to turn it on.     If it is still not turning on without the battery then follow the step given below..

Let us do the basic steps first..

Doing the power drain and bios defaults will really help.  Kindly follow the steps given below:

Once the battery is removed, remove the charger cable.  Hold the power button for 1 min without turning on the computer.   Turn on the computer and it should work fine..

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear.  Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

After removing the battery, it should work fine only with the charger cable connected.

Now you can replace the battery and check it with a new battery..

Your battery pack likely has an internal short that's causing excessive amperage draw from the power supply which causes its voltage to the mainboard to drop below a critical level. Google search 'v3-575g' and 'battery' for vendors who ship replacements to your location. New battery packs for this model are about $25usd.

I live in Serbia, and Acer customer support here is one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. They don’t offer any repairs, and when I requested the list of authorised repair service providers I never got the reply.

That said, only other option for the replacement battery is a generic Chinese battery available here in Serbia for about 10-15$ usd.

The thing is, I don’t really need a battery for my laptop. I use it as a desktop machine, and never move it around.
That’s why simply removing the battery and running it with the charger only is a good enough solution for me.

I tried all of the steps mentioned above and still nothing. I was using a surge protector yesterday when I wrote this post and I thought that might have been the problem, but even after trying it directly from the outlet it’s not working.

I also tried loading bios defaults yesterday before writing this post and that didn’t work either.

    Here’s a strange thing:
If I connect the battery, power on the laptop, then remove the battery while the laptop is running - the laptop stays on.
If I power it off like that (without the battery, but keeping the charger plugged), it can turn back on without the battery connected.
But if I power it off without the battery, then unplug and plug the charger again - nothing.

Without a good battery installed, the power supply can also exceed its rated ampere output during periods of high power demand such as gaming since a battery also occasionally  complements the charger during high loads. It's also hard to predict how the mainboard will respond and react with and without a bad battery being connected. Since you risk damaging both the charger and the mainboard without a good battery connected, you should order a new battery even if generic because most  batteries are simply re-labelled generic batteries  anyway.

I just bought a new battery. It doesn’t work at all. The laptop is not turning on and the orange led light doesn’t turn on either.

What did they sell you? The generic battery would be type AL15A with 4S1P form factor 4 cell 2520 mAh about 15volts. Your charger's open circuit voltage between the plug's outer barrel and center hold connector should be 19volt dc.

If the new battery has been sitting on the shelf for a long time, it may need to be plugged in to the laptop for several hours before it starts charging and the LED turns  first to steady orange, then steady blue.
