I've never cleaned the inside of a laptop before and I'm paranoid of damaging anything. So here are the top question on my head but please inform me of anything that can potentially damage my PC.
  1. Can I use a brush to clean the motherboard and the fans?
  2. Will I short circuit my laptop if I place it on a wooden surface while I'm siting on a couch because of static electricity or something along those lines?

    Hi @BunE,

Use a can of compressed air to blow
out the internals of your laptop. Ensure you're blowing the dust out of the laptop's case, not just moving it around inside. For example, you could blow more toward your laptop's vents so the dust would be blasted through the vents and out of the laptop.
