Hi everyone,

My computer got the message "no bootable device" once and I couldn't reboot it so I asked a friend to look at it. They said they couldn't find what was wrong, so they switch the spot of the SSD and I was able to reboot it. They also said the first SSD slot might be broken or something, but they were not sure why.
Few months have passed and the "no bootable device" thingy happened again, and I was able to reboot it myself. But some friends suggested that I should get the SSD replaced because they weren't sure what was wrong either.
Does anyone have any recommendations for what to do in this case?

My device model is SF514-53T.
Thanks a lot!

Yes, it's pretty likely the issue is the drive in the process of failing, though usually you can verify that by looking at it's SMART data. Both of the SSD M.2 ports on your model supports NVMe x4 drives. Choose the size of drive you wish and clone the failing drive to the new one, then remove the old one to allow booting from the new. If the new one can't boot due to errors in the cloning process (which wouldn't be unusual with a failing drive) you will have to either use a recovery image (if you have created one) or do a new install of Windows plus any missing drivers and apps. If you have to do that you won't have the Acer specific apps...
