Laptop acer aspire doesn't turn on but shows black screen

Previously i faced this issue and removed power cord and battery, press power button for 30 seconds and put battery back and power cord.  So laptop turned on normally .

This time it's not working by this method.

I also tried following options but didn't help.

-Removed and put back ram and hard drive

- tried pressing alt+f10, f2, win+ctrl+shift+b, also press all f1-f10 keys one by one and black screen doesn't go away.

any help would be appreciated.

I managed to solve issue  by removing battery but power cord cord connected and press power button +f12 for 30 seconds and screen opened at 45' angle.

If screen is fully opened screen,  doesn't start.

Once screen starts,  i open full screen and works.

Can anyone explain what relationship of turning on laptop with 45 'angle.other wise it won't work.

Note screen is not damaged or like that issue.

Try pressing FN+F6 to turn screen on. If no success, do you see a TV screen when you HDMI out to a TV set and press FN+F5?

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Change both 'when I close the lid' options to 'do nothing'. Test this again, preferrably after a reboot.

No,  it's not linked to that.  As laptop turned on when screen wasn't fully opened. And didn't work when screen fully opened.

Although this phenomenon is also mentioned on other forum which actually helped me but don't know exact reason behind this phenomenon.

Although now updated all drovers,  disk clean up,  disk defragmentation,  delete un used registries. And now laptop  turns on normally.

Also i faced similar and laptop started when i turned on laptop with screen not fully opened, power cord cord connected and battery removed. That time i didn't pay alot of attention to this phenomenon.
But this time, it caused alot of headache of several days and same phenomenon solved the problem.

Thanks for all your help anyways

Did you try setting the lid closure to 'do nothing'? If not please try it. If it still doesn't work, then click on 'change settings that currently aren't available' near the top of the same page. Then scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup. Then shutdown Windows normally. Then turn it back on again to test the lid angle.

    Hi @aaa11ever,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.

The hall magnetic switch that detects the screen-closed position is likely defective or its opposing magnet behind the screen bezel has come loose.  This switch is supposed to disconnect power to the LCD  when the lid is near fully closed to prevent overheating. It's clearly not operating properly.
