I just purchased an ACER XC 1660G. In the box was a cable I was not familiar with and could not find any place to attach it. Doing a visual search online I think it is a Sata cable. Why did I get it and what do I do with it.
I do see the Hard drive is split into a C: and a D: drive.

It is a cable for you to add a drive in case you want to do it.

    Be sure to keep it.

It should be a six pin inline connector at one end and a couple of SATA power connectors. It's used to power additional drives if you want to install more. You can either plug it in and leave it disconnected (which makes it hardest to lose) or leave it out and in a safe place where you can find it in the future.
