Acer Swift 5 Case Crack near screen hinge, causing significant flex while opening the screen,

I've been using my swift 5 for a year plus and recently notice a crack line near one the case near the left hinge of the screen and is causing a significant flex on the inner screen whenever I tried opening the laptop. 
I always carry my laptop in a case and have not drop the laptop before. 
Is this considered a manufacturing defect due to the hinge being too tight ? 
Can this be claimed under warranty ?

Typically that type of failure isn't covered under warranty, because there is no way to determine if it was a manufacturing defect or user abuse. That changes for each locale though, so you should check into it for your country.

I have the same problem too. Acer made me feel disappointed. This laptop is expensive but quality so bad

Yes, hinge too tight due to a slightly bended hinge pin or accumulated dirt. Opening the lid in the middle and not at the right side may prevent flexing of the lid and uneven strain, often on the left hinge. Replacing the lid and hinge assembly can cost up to $200 or more if in the USA. Since your laptop is rather new, I recommend bringing/sending it immediately to Acer Services in your country to get the lid and hinge replaced before the panel start cracking which could add another $150 to the repairs.
