Hi all,
I have a new Acer Aspire A514-54 laptop. I have been having trouble with its wifi adapter. I am considering replacing it with an Intel adapter. I have read about many people having trouble with the pre-installed adapters which is fixed by replacing it with the Intel branded chip.

I am wondering which adapters are compatible. My suspicion is that the AX201 is required rather than the AX200 as this laptop uses the Intel interface - is that correct?

Of the following three adapters, which if any are compatible with my laptop?
* AX210NGW
* AX200NGW
* AX201NGW

Exact model number of my laptop: Acer Aspire A514-54
Current Wifi adapter: Mediatek MT7921

    The Intel drivers are often the same for different models. However, the proprietary mainboard decides what pieces of the driver code get used. As mentioned earlier, other models might work fine. But also might not. The safest choices are the tested cards listed in the original specsheet shown below. But still no 100% guarantees --- at least from me anyway.   :)

    Google search the recommended intel ACER part no. "KE.11A0N.010" for vendors who ship to your location. Other users have tried more advanced/higher speed capable cards with mixed results. Google intel 9560ngw substitutes. Some work out of the box. Some work by covering certain pins with tape. Some don't work at all. Be careful the physical form factors are the same for subs including location of the hold-down screwhole.

    Thanks Jack. I cannot find any mention of drivers for my laptop model on the Acer site, so I'd like to double-check that this is suitable for the Acer Aspire 5 A514-54. The Acer website definitely mentions the AX201 as having drivers. What I'm asking in this thread, is if the 201 is definitely compatible and if the 210 / 211 are as well.
