Spin SP513-54N - Issue with USB-C Port (no sound when device connected and heating problem)

Hi,

I have following problems with my Spin SP513-54N 2020 Model (i5-1035G4 Bios v1.10):

When connecting an SSD HDD (Sandisk) to the USB-C port (the one next to the power supply connector) then the SSD HD get’s extremely hot (too hot to use), when connecting the same SSD HDD to the other USB-C port (the one next to the HDMI connector) then there is no heating problem with the external SSD HDD.

In addition, when connecting an external device (e.g. external HDD) to the USB-C port next to the power supply connector then I do not have sound over the internal speakers.
When I connect the same external device to the other USB-C port (the one next to the HDMI connector) then I still have sound over the internal speakers.

Has anybody else with a Spin SP513-54 2020 Model experiencing this issue ?
I ask me whether this is a Construction/Design Fault or a Manufacturing Defect.

I am not seeing that with mine. I just plugged an external drive into that port and it just barely feels warmer than room temperature. The drive I plugged in is an external NVMe case though, so might pull less power than yours. I fired up Groove Music and let it play a random song from my library with no issue. I could see the drive issue being a power draw, though not why it would be different for the two different ports, but with both it and the sounds I'd go ahead and contact Acer support to get a ticket generated.

What is the HDD memory space ?

I am not seeing that with mine. I just plugged an external drive into that port and it just barely feels warmer than room temperature. The drive I plugged in is an external NVMe case though, so might pull less power than yours. I fired up Groove Music and let it play a random song from my library with no issue. I could see the drive issue being a power draw, though not why it would be different for the two different ports, but with both it and the sounds I'd go ahead and contact Acer support to get a ticket generated.

It is a 1 TB SanDisk Extreme SSD V2 (SDSSDE61-1T00-G25).

Thank's billsey. I tried now with two different devices (Seagate 1 TB ext HDD) and a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone.
While this two do not seem to get hot but there is still no sound over the internal speakers.
Even when I disconnect the devices from the USB-C port the sound is still missing.
I have to reboot the system in order to have sound again. Connecting any device on the other USB-C port and I still have sound.
As soon as I connect a device on the USB-C Port next to the power supply the sound is gone and I have to reboot the system in order to resume sound.
