Ethernet port looks like a telephone port..

Please look at the link given below to see the picture of ethernet port..

If you are not able to see the ethernet port on your laptop you can get a usb wired network adapter.     You can also get a combo usb wired and wireless adapter.    Please remember you can use the usb wired adapter on any computer you want.     You can simply plug and play the adapter on to the usb port, connect the cable and start using it or you might have to install the drivers for it.   Some adapters will be coming along with a driver's disk or you might have to download the drivers from the internet for that particular model.    Most of the adapters are plug and play.   Just connect the usb adapter, connect the ethernet cable and start using it..

Many, if not most, of the newer laptops don't have an Ethernet port. The speed and convenience of WiFi make it so the thickness tradeoff is too much to include it. The business models often do have it though. You can get whichever USB to Ethernet adapter you wish, I would look at what other USB devices you might want to use to see which port is most available. I picked up a couple of USB 3.0 to 1000BaseT adapters recently to go into my bag and they were pretty cheap.
