I have an older Acer 5517-5689 I am trying to load windows 7 on to give to someone.  The hard drive was removed before I got it.  I installed a 160 gig I had and with a windows 7  home prem disk I loaded it using the windows 7 product key numbers on bottom of case.    Now when I try and activate windows it won't let me saying it is not the correct id.  I have checked three times and I did use the correct id values.  Anyway I can get this old thing to activate.  It runs great but I know I got only three days to activate .  I have it connected wireless on the internet and it actually is pretty fast.  I just need to complete this soon.  Thanks for any help.

Also this is the 64 bit version I used to load windows .  I see nothing saying anything about the product id on bottom of case being a 32 bit. It has been a while since I did computer work but in the past I did many but this one has me stumped.  Probably something simple .  I hope anyway.
