Does Thunderbolt Ports on SP513-54N-74v2 support battery charging

I have been very uncomfortable with using the power supply provided with the device because it feels very flimsy. I am a field technician, and most times I need to have the laptop in awkward positions or holding with one hand while being used. Most times when I shift the laptop, the power connection tone on the laptop sounds, indicating that power has been disconnected and reconnected for a brief period. I am concerned that eventually, the power port may become loose and unable to power on, or charge the device. I would like to utilize the thunderbolt port if possible because of the convenience of the thunderbolt technology, however, I haven't been able to verify whether this is possible on my laptop. Based on online resources, it should be theoretically possible however,  I do not want to cause an issue with my device by not following manufacturer recommendations.

Acer says the Spin SP513-54N models support charging via that port using a 19V 65W charger.
    USB Type-C port supporting:
    • DisplayPort over USB-C
    • Thunderbolt 3
    • USB charging 5 V; 3 A
    • DC-in port 19 V; 65 W

I have a Spin 3 and the power cord (the metal end) is just ridiculous, constantly causing beeping and falling out.  Finally, it bent and I ordered a replacement.  But I have now found out that I can use the USB Thunderbolt port to charge.  I have another laptop that uses a Type C charger so I am using that with much less aggravation!

@Prosqtrixi you have a completely different model than the one in this thread (this thread is for a Spin 5, not Spin 3). Features like change from year to year and from model to model, so what works on yours may not on a different model.

I have the same issue - the AC adaptor doesn't stay in and doesn't work on my Spin 513. I got a 65W USBC adapter which stays in fine, but it seems to override my audio. When I have it plugged in, the headphone jack doesn't work - it tells me No Output device for sound when I have something plugged into it. The internal speakers don't work either. When I plug the whole thing into my docking station, it gives me audio through the docking station, but when I'm not docked I have no audio. Really ridiculous.

Is your Spin also a SP514-54N, or one of the other 513 models?
