Predator Helios 300 G3-571-77QK AC adapter is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting

As title says, I noticed today that the AC adapter is getting "Disconnected" and "Connected" constantly and it is concerning as this is my work laptop.

I've testing wriggling the cable while it is "disconnected" but it seems not to be the reason for this. I've also measured the power brick's output voltage and wiggled it a bit too and it does not seem to be dropping out.

With the laptop turned off, I can see the charge light turning on and off as well. And when it is turned off, I press the battery disconnect button on the bottom with a pin and it seems to turn back on instantly.

I am aware the battery is starting to have wear issues. It has gone dark on me on 15% while compiling some code, but it seems like an internal PMIC problem. What can I do to troubleshoot it?

    Hi @DrBomb,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

DrBomb check your battery wear with hwinfo or battery bar pro if more than 20% consider replacing your battery is faulty also check your adapter with a voltmeter to make sure its outputting the correct voltage (as it seems you have already done it) also perform a battery powerdrain (disconnect from AC press/hold the battery kill switch for 30s+) followed by a bios setup defaults try to calibrate your battery properly after the powerdrain and bios setup defaults let the battery completely discharge shutdown and recharge it to full while off repeat the process 3 times for a proper calibration in case your battery its faulty and you need to replace it here are the part numbers you need to look for good luck :)
