PH315-52 Reset to device, Device RaidPort0, was issued, iastorAC 129

I have Predator PH315-52 which crashes and reboots while gaming.
On checking windows events I see the reset to device issued message.
Before the crash S
SD active time goes to 100% and no reads or writes happens.
Windows just freezes for a while and laptop reboots(sometimes with bsod).
Some times when rebooting it says "No storage device found" but boots again if you press the power button after waiting 2-3 seconds.
Tried switching from RST premium to ahci, same thing happens only difference being in the event log.
Tried with different versions of windows including latest. All drivers are updated to latest via windows update/GeForce experience.

  • Try uninstalling intel rapid storage. Then check if the error still occurs.

    I switched my sata controller mode in bios from intel rst premium to AHCI in an attempt to solve the issue. RST driver is not shown anymore. Uninstalled rst utility software as well.
    Issue still persists
  • Can you check the health of both ssds with crystaldiskinfo program?

    This is Crystaldiskinfo when SSD goes to 100% active with no read-write. I was running Apex Legends and the laptop started to warm up.

    And the second image is when SSD started to read-write again. Apex is closed at this time

  • It appears to be an oem ssd, ie the ssd is manufactured by samsung, but the firmware is modified by acer. You have already tried to disconnect and reconnect ssd.

    I haven't reconnected the SSD. In fact, I haven't opened up the laptop since it's still covered by warranty and has those "will void warranty" stickers
  • It would be interesting to check if the ssd came with thermal shielding installed:

    My model has only 1 SSD, there's another 1TB SSD. Ive been using this laptop for more than a year without this issue.
    The issue in the intel community thread mentioned in the original question got resolved by replacing the motherboard. Guess Ive to take it to service then.
    Still curious about how the issue couldve manifested after more than an year of usage

  • I don't think it's a mainboard issue, but something related to ssd. Have you ever tried to just disconnect and reconnect ssd?
