BrandonM said:Hey guys, really really hope someone can help. Today my laptop froze on me so I turned it off. When I went to turn it back on, the keyboard lights up and the power lights are on but it doesn't boot at all. The fans don't start etc. I'm freaking out as I need this laptop for my job.The model number is N17C1I have been pulling my hair out looking for a solution, so far I have:1) disconnected the battery and reconnected2)tried to start with no battery and just AC power.3) unseated the ram and reseated, also swapped the ram slots. I also tried booting with just one ram stick at a time.4) disconnected and reconnected the CMOS battery.None of these have solved the issue. I'm so confused as to what it could be.Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Firstly BrandonM, you have done all the initial things that a consumer can do to power on your laptop. Your next step is to take your laptop to either Acer in your area or an experienced tech so they can analyse your laptops power circuitry problems e.g. there could be a fault and/or a short in the power on circuitry components that can only be analysed and fixed by replacing faulty components by an experienced tech that has all the tools and can do micro soldering to replace these components, do not try to do this yourself.
Power on issues are very complicated and can’t be fixed by doing anything that you have done, as power on problems needs to be analysed and pinpointed by testing the appropriate circuitries and the mainboard for faults. Just as a reference of one of the best tech around, have a look at NorthridgeFix on their YouTube channel at “Laptop No Power Repair - Finding fault using Thermal Camera” of how complicated and what tools are needed to pinpoint power on problems.

BrandonM, the causes for laptop not turning on are various. In addtion to hardware problems, software issues and virus attack also could be the reason. You may check if solutions in this case work for you: https://forums.tomsguide.com/threads/laptop-wont-turn-on-but-charger-light-is-still-on.154348/
