Flickering Screen Nitro 5 an517-52

I keep my laptop on my desk and it never leaves. While I was watching youtube vidoes the screen started flickering and got dark(mostly in the corners). I quickly restarted the computer and it was still the same. It flickes even in the BIOS and during boot. I noticed there is a new BIOS update titled "GPU protection". I kinda wish I updated it sooner, idk. I let it set for a few hours off and after I turned it back on it is no longer dark but still flickering. Anyone know what is going on?

    Hello!!

    @djorborn

    It is sad to know that display flickers in the Nitro. If it is a software issue, the display flickering will not occur in BIOS. From your description, the display flickers even in BIOS & during boot... this means to be Hardware issue.

    To confirm the hardware issue, try connecting the laptop to external display unit like Monitor and check whether it flickers or not. If it flickers, it is confirmed to be Hardware issue. At that time, you need to contact Acer Technical Support in your region for repair options.

    Hope this helps you.
