Hello,

Does Preinstalled Microsoft Office Home and Student Can Be Used After Reinstalling Windows?

I just bought Acer Aspire 5 Slim (A514-54G) with Microsoft Office Home and Student preinstalled, and I already activated it.

So let's say I want to reinstall Windows for some reason. Does Office Home and Student license will remain?

Thanks.

Probably not If it's a limited trial version.

    Hi, @JackE

No, it is not. It is a preinstalled and activated Office Home and Student. Maybe it is linked to my Microsoft Account?

Should be OK. If you do an ALT+F10 cold boot OEM factory reset it should remain valid/activated since the license is already tied to the machine's embedded serial number id on the mainboard.

Hi community, I have a similar question, what if reinstallation AFTER Win11 upgrade?  As the Office embedded in factory image is on previous (Win10) OS, does that mean I have to do factory refresh to prev OS first, THEN (re)upgrade to Win11? Cheers!

If office works now, it should work after upgrade but only if your machine is compatible with AND fully ready to run Win11. Compatibility means your   full ACER model number is on this list. Ready to run means your full ACER model number has the Win11 drivers ready to install in  this driver list.
