Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42) loses internet after entering sleep mode or closing lid

Ever since I bought this laptop this has been an issue. After the laptop remains idle for sometime, goes into sleep mode, or the lid is closed, it is unable to reconnect to the internet. When restarted it promptly finds the internet and works fine. This seems like a common issue and I have read several posts about others running into the same problem. The recommendations have been to reinstall the driver or adjust the battery settings to allow it to operate on maximum output (something with it is unable to fully wake up in the other battery modes). I am still under warranty so I called Acer today and we reinstalled the driver but that did nothing to fix the issue. They said the only other solution is to ship it to their repair center which I don't really want to do as I need the laptop for work. In regards to the battery solution I have not been able to follow those directions because my laptop is always a slightly different model and does not have the exact same options. If anyone has any idea how to fix this I'd appreciate it. Laptop is usable just frustrating to constantly restart all the time.  Thanks.
