My E1-771-6458 has a bay for a second hard drive, but has no connector or mounting bracket. Is it possible to buy a connector cable and install it without having to do complete disassembly? I upgraded to a SSD, and would like to install the original drive in the 2nd bay for additional storage. If parts can not be bought from Acer, can anyone give me part numbers so that I can try other sources?

Thank you!

If you're in the US or CA, you can request a mounting kit at this link. However, if it was mine, I'd just get the cable (part # 50.MNDN7.005) and immobilize and protect the HDD with antistat foam. It's already crowded enough inside these laptops than to add more metal brackets, screws etc. (part# 33.RHS07.005)

Google search the part#s if the mounting kits isn't available. Cable ~$25UUSD. Bracket ~$10usd

Thank you! I will take your advice on antistatic foam. I found a cable on eBay.
