Critical Low Battery Nitro 5 AN515-55-57C4

I bought an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-57C4 from the official Acer eBay page 3 days ago and finally got the laptop today. I turn it on to set up and charge the laptop and everything is fine then a few minutes later it says the laptop is not charging then it turns off and says it is in Critical Low Battery. I am using the charger I got in the box and I haven't played any games on it yet. Here is the link to the page of where I bought it from for more info.

I just returned the laptop and got a new one.

If the battery is completely drained out then you will be getting the message "Critical low battery".    Please make sure that before the battery gets drained out completely try to connect the charger cable and start charging the laptop. 

Please connect the charger to laptop and turn on the computer.   It will charge the battery and once it is completely charged start using it. 

It might also be the issue with battery, charger or power outlet.   Try to use the charger in a different room on a different power outlet.  Try to bypass the surge protector and connect it directly to power outlet.    Try to use an alternative charger if possible.    Try to turn on the computer without the charger and check it  ( as long as the battery is not drained out )

I am really sorry for the inconvenience..   Let us do the basic steps first..

Doing the power drain and bios defaults will really help.  Kindly follow the steps given below:

Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices or any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, you can find a  pin hole. It is a tiny hole. You can a find a battery symbol indicator next to the hole. It is like a + and - sign symbol as though somebody is trying to shift the battery out. Insert the pin on to the hole for 30 seconds. Remove the pin. Flip the laptop. Connect the charger cable, turn on the computer.  Only on laptops where the battery is inbuilt you can find the battery reset hole on the back of laptop.

If you don’t find a pin hole on the back of laptop then you might be using removable battery. There is no need to unscrew anything to remove the battery.  Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices and any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down.  On the bottom of the laptop, please look at the top or bottom depending on the way you look at it. You can find a long door. It is a battery removable door.  Just below that you can find a latch.  If you move the latch you can remove the battery door. Once the battery is removed, flip the laptop. Open the top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer. 

 

If you don’t see a reset pin hole on the back of laptop or if you are not able to remove the battery (if it is inbuilt) then please unplug all the cables and devices out of laptop.  Hold the power button for 1 minute.  After releasing the button you should wait a while before plugging in power. Just because the button has been pressed doesn't bleed off all the residual electricity on the motherboard. Wait 15-30 minutes before plugging in power. Then once power is connected wait for a full battery indication before turning the system on. That allows the battery to fully reset it's internal statistics.

 

Connect all the cables back and restart the computer.  

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear.  Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

I don't have a pin hole or a removable battery so I instantly went to the last step. I held the power button for a minute like you said then after 15 minutes I plugged in the charger. The battery shows no sign of charging and it still says critical low battery.

Also, adding to the previous comment. I checked the outlet and it works fine and I also tried charging it using the USB-C port and still does not charge either so I can assume the main charger works fine.

So I has having this issue and my laptop started working after I tried all the steps listed above and it still didn’t power on. The last thing I tried was unplugging the pacer cable from the brick of the power supply and plugging back in. Then, when my laptop powered back on, it took a second (both the blue and the orange LED lights were on, then went off for a second and then came back on) and my login screen appeared! The time was wrong, but I rebooted the computer and it was still wrong, but after letting it sit for about 5 minutes (the time it took for me write this much) it self-corrected to the correct time! 

I tried pretty much everything in this post including removing/unscrewing the back panel and disconnecting the battery and CMOS battery cables from the motherboard and reconnecting them several times. That didn’t even work and I had gotten to work by doing that when I had faced this problem previously. This time, the last thing I tried: disconnecting the last half of the power cable from the rest of the power supply (brick on cord) and reconnecting it was the only thing that got my laptop to charge and boot back up.

Hey dear friend, I'd like any help from you.  I have the following issue: my battery is getting charged (usually) around until 96%, 97%, 98%  and rarely it gets 100%, but when it gets 100% it backs to 98, 97 and so on... never remains 100% continuously. But then what is my issue? the issue is that if I open so many windows, and sometimes if I try to install a new app for example, it get uncharged immediately. And when it happens that I try to turn it on , it shows up 'critical low battery"   so I have to wait a couple of minutes or even few hours to be able to turn my notebook again.  Should I replace the battery or ???? Please help me out!!!
