XC 885 - WHEN SWITCH ON EXTERNAL SPEAKERS, MONITOR SCREEN GOES BLACK

Screen goes black for little while, then comes back on. Most times when I switch speakers on, not all.
Does the PC think the monitor has speakers [it doesn't], so it needs to change to external speakers?
I updated audio driver - still same.
Could it be an interference, suppression issue and how to fix?

Try these basic steps as you are using a Acer PC.

    Turn off the computer.
Unplug all the devices and cables including power cable.
Press and hold the power button for 45 seconds.
Connect all the cables back.    Please connect the power cable as the last one.

    Turn on the computer
    Tap del
    Go to bios
press f9 - Load defaults - press yes
press f10 - save the changes - press yes

Computer should load the windows ..   Now turn on the speakers and check..

Hi - is this the same as clear the CMOS?

No, it's just resetting the BIOS to factory defaults. Clearing the CMOS is a more drastic step.
