GPU card for tc-895 i-7 10th gen to meet requirements for Diablo 2 Resurrected.

I purchased a tc-895 10th gen i7 computer in June. I was replacing a computer I had for 11 years. I thought the Intel graphics would meet the requirements, but they do not. Per Blizzard customer service, "Intel GPUs aren’t supported currently. We don’t know if this will change in the future, but haven’t heard any plans regarding it at this time. As such, it’s safest to assume that your PC won’t run the game unless our system requirements are updated at some point down the line." I'm hoping I can add a GPU to mitigate the gaming hell of crashed games I am experiencing now. If not, then I'll buy another computer but will try to upgrade my present one first. Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

PCIe x16 is the format for the electrical interface. The card format (standard, low profile, shorty) is dependent on the space in the case. When I look at pictures of the back of your machine it looks like the slots are standard height, so you likely don't need low profile. When I look at pictures of your case with the side cover off the only potential issue I see is where that drive plate mounts. If you have a full sized 3.5" HDD installed it might hang down enough to block space for the card, and then it would require either low profile, so it fits under the HDD, or a shorty so it doesn't go all the way back to the drive. If you are just using a SSD in the M.2 slot then you are likely good to go with a normal card.

You can also disable virtuality in the BIOS usually. It will be listed as something like VT-x...

Acer purchases those supplies from a couple of different vendors, so there are two part numbers: DC.5001H.001 and DC.5001B.009. Either will work since the specs are the same.

Yeah, that's one of the Flex designed supplies, not the full ATX size.

I don't think that will work, the open area where the PSU mounts on your case just isn't big enough for a full sized ATX supply.

I'm not seeing anything in the Service Guide that reflects the new power supply and case design. I'm guessing they have gone that direction due to part shortages with the original design. I'm escalating to the moderator to try and get some feedback from the factory on it. I think the PSU part numbers you have see so far are all from the SG, so likely match the older case/PSU design.

vivagelato i can run diablo 2 resurrected on my i5 10210U igpu it wont run smoothly of course you have to get some of the the settings down at 1080p but it will run its playable

even with the MX250 2gb at 1080p maxed you will have some glitches once in awhile

But of course you can also blame blizzard for not optimizing it properly its not the hardware thats the issue even ppl with top tier hardware are having issues the issue here its the optimization that should had been done properly but what can u expect from blizzard and some other big devs they just what to push it to sell thats it as long as it sells its fine for them no matter the sate of the game

Hi, thanks for that information. Even with a 12gb card people are having problems with D2.

I brought my computer to an upgrade specialist who did a great job. He took out the hdd and disengaged the dvd drive. Then installed the EVGA GeForce GTX 1650 SC Ultra Gaming GDDR6 card and performed some updates to the bios and drivers. I've ordered a hd enclosure to run the hdd on demand to USB since I still have the ssd. The pc runs smoothly and fast. I fired up D2 and it started right away. I was able to create games and start questing again. Gaming is great. This will probably keep me going until D4 comes. Then it will be time for a new, upgradable computer - possibly an Acer Nitro or an Asus. D4 might be in 4 or 8k.

I still get constantly crash in D2R

I got 99% stable in POE......... but not in D2R

it is not related to GPU but Blizzard released a beta game to market...........

not fully tested....

you can check with D2R forum, many players have same issue as well.

Check to see which PSU is installed in your TC-895, IIRC they come with either a 300W or 500W. With the 300W supply you need a GPU that uses not a lot of power, with the 500W you can bump that up a bit.

Thanks for your responses! My manual states I have a 300 watt psu. Not sure if the power supply is upgradable or not. I I have found a couple of 4 gb cards that meet the minimum requirements and then some for D2R. Trying to find cards that only take 1 slot though. 24 gb cards like the RTX3090 are not an option unless I can install a 750 watt psu. Sad thing is, this year 8k is the big thing, next year it will be 16k, then 32, 64, 128...
I have been playing D3 on my computer since June with no issues. D2 though is a pain. I create a game, then try to join it for 5-9 times. Once in, I sometimes drop taking a tp to town or using a waypoint. A new video card might mitigate some of my issues. Possibly Blizzard will patch some of the server problems which might have more of an effect. I've checked the forums regarding game issues which is where I saw the message from Blizzard customer service that Intel GPUs are currently not supported.

You can buy a GT1030, it can install on 300W PSU system without problem

Nope, the Corsair ATX12VO Adapter Cable is for a ten pin connector on the MB, the Acer 12VO MBs use six and eight conductor connectors.

I am likely going to purchase a GT1030 or GTX 1650. Computer graphic card prices are crazy-you get what you pay for sometimes, but right now some cards are twice the price they should be at. Crypto miners need their cards. Hopefully the chip shortage gets resolved some time in 2022. Down the road I will probably upgrade my monitors to 4 or 8k so will need to increase my graphic capabilities. By then there should be more solutions.

After chatting with customer service, it was pointed out to me that this system has one PCI Express x16 slot . Does that limit me to the low profile graphic cards? I have found some. Trying to avoid ones with DVI since I do not use that output-prefer hdmi, dp.

I am currently trying to upgrade the power supply. I sent a message via a website contact form to Acer's parts partner Capital Data to see if I could order one. I also came across a thread in the predator forum where they were discussing Silverstone power supplies. The unit on Amazon (Silverstone DA550 Gold, Decathlon 80 Plus Gold 550W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply) does state it is single rail. The description does not mention ATX12VO though. Any thoughts or experience with this power supply? Thanks,

They show the wrong connectors for a 12VO system on their website. Any that have the 20/24 pin connectors are providing more than just the 12V.

Thanks for the response! I was hoping I found the elusive manufacturer of the needed power supply, but alas. Like a unicorn 🦄 that remains hard to find. I hope to eventually receive a response from Capital Data, but am not sure if someone is actually tasked with responding to their contact form submissions. Looking at a low profile 1050 card. Then upgrade in 2022-2023 when more reasonably priced cards are on the market. Who knows, maybe someone will come out with a single slot 24gb ddr7 card that runs on 250 watts.

Yeah, but the adapters to bring all eight DP ports out of the back of that single slot card are a pain to work with. They keep pulling loose.

Thank you for the response. I am looking at this card in particular: EVGA GeForce GTX 1650 SC Ultra Gaming GDDR6, 04G-P4-1257-KR, 4GB GDDR6, Dual Fan, Metal Backplate. Small form factor. The msrp is $209.00, but the going rate is a littler more than twice as much. Supplies unlikely to improve before 3rd quarter 2022. It's PCle 3.0. Minimum of a 300 Watt power supply. Total Power Draw : 75 Watts. Would this work?

Check to see if your PSU has the extra 6pin connector the GTX 1650 needs. If it does that one really ought to work. Acer is putting 1650s and 1660s in other models with a 300W supply. BTW, single vs. dual slot doesn't make any difference unless you are populating the x1 slot with something. You actually have room for three slots to be filled on the back, it's just that the connectors line up with the first two, and the first one is the x16...

You will likely have to do something custom, maybe a Y cable off the smaller of the two motherboard connections.

I've watched a couple of youtube videos on adding a gtx 1650 card to a TC-895-UR12 Desktop. There was one where a dual y-cord SATA to PICe adapter was used for a 8 pin graphics card. It was connected to the Sata plug on the motherboard. My card does require a 6 pin connection. Are there schematics of the tc-895 and other acer models available for download? I checked my manual, and it does not have one. Thanks,

No, the closest we have is the motherboard image. There are two power connectors on the MB, one has 12V only, the other 12V and Power On.

Thank you for that information. I did the power calculation at Newegg, and I'm at 301 watts. I'll disengage the dvd drive which saves me 31 watts.Hopefully that will suffice. I have a dvd drive that connects via USB for my old Acer Laptop I can always use if needed. I've ordered an UGREEN Sata Power Cable Sata15 Pin to 6 Pin PCI Express Graphics Video Card Power Cable Adapter 8 Inch to connect my GPU. Now I just have to wait for my gpu to arrive. In the hopefully not too distant future there may even be ATX12VO 500 watt power units on the market.
