Hi, so I want to upgrade RAM for my laptop. But I am confused with RAM frequency and stuff. I tried to check my RAM frequency, in Task Manager it shows 2400MHz but when I tried to check using cmd, it showed 'Configured Clock Speed' as 2400MHz and 'Speed' as 2667MHz (Attached screenshots). I am thinking to buy Crucial RAM stick of 8GB, but I am confused about the frequency.

Crucial recommends these 3 RAMs with different frequency for this laptop. Which one should I go with?

Also attaching CPU-Z screenshot if that helps.

It will be optimal performance by matching the existing RAM module, including the CL value. However, I think you cannot tell any difference whether if it is CL19 or CL17, will not be an issue. Like I said, it really doesn't matter that much, both 2400 and 2667 MHz , CL17 and CL19 will work too, will still be running at 2400 MHz anyway.

The Task Manager memory speed is usually the true speed being used. The spec of your existing memory module may be 2667 MHz.

The memory speed being used will be restricted by the motherboard allowed speed and the CPU allowed speed, governed by whichever is the slower.

Normally I advise people to upgrade the RAM to the spec of the existing RAM module. For your case, really doesn't matter that much. Using a 2400 MHz or 2667 MHz module will still be running at 2400 MHz speed.

Thanks for responding! So do you suggest me to go for 2400MHz stick or 2667MHz? I am getting 2667MHz stick cheaper but I noticed it has CL19 while mine has CL17. Will that be an issue?
