Built-in microphone and plugged in headset's mic does not receive any inputs. My headset's mic is completely fine and working on other devices.

I have already tried the ff:

-Checking Windows Privacy settings.
-Checking if microphone access is 'on' for windows and in the app/s I want to use it.
-Checking if mic is muted in settings of the app.
-Checking Speakers' Properties and Microphone Properties to see they are disabled or muted.
-Checking if microphone is used as default.
-Uninstalled and Installed Realtek HD Audio drivers (tried updating the driver for this model via acer website).
-Updated my windows (windows 10 outdated version to the latest update for this model).

But none if these worked for me..

If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be nice of you to tell me here. :>

As of now I remedy this issue by using my android smartphone as my mic using 'DroidCam' via USB, it is bothersome to do this everytime I will be needing my mic for my college classes, and meetings or calls.

Sometimes a simple system restore will fix the issue..

    Try windows x
click on power shell admin or command prompt admin
    type rstrui
chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine
    click on next, finish, yes
It will restore your computer to an earlier date
if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close
It will show you all the icons..

Try and check whether it is working now ..

If it is still not working ...

    Step 1

You  can always  do a refresh and reset.   These are steps to do the refresh and reset ..

click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started

    or

on start - type here to search - type reset this pc - click on reset this pc on the top  - click on get started

It will show you keep my files and remove everything

chose keep my files  ( only applications will be lost )
chose the account - type the password - click on local reinstall - click on reset
    It will be in progress..
login to computer and start using the computer.

If it is still not working try the step 2

    Step 2

click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started
    chose remove everything
click on local reinstall - just remove my files - click on reset  - It will be in progress

If you do refresh ( keep my files ) -  all your personal files like pictures, music , documents , videos  will still be intact.   Only the applications will be lost

If you do reset  ( remove everything )  - you are doing a factory default.   It will become like a day one computer.    It will wipe out everything and take your computer to day one like a new computer.

If it is still not working please try the step 3

    Step 3

click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started
    chose remove everything
click on local reinstall - Fully clean the drive - click on reset  - It will be in progress

It it is still not working please try the step 4

You can also try the step 1, step 2 and step 3 by using alt + f10  or alt gr + f10  while starting the computer.    It will go to chose an option, continue , use a device , troubleshoot.     You can click on troubleshoot - Reset this pc -  to run the keep my files, just remove my files or fully clean the drive.

    Turn off the computer..
Try alt + f10 or alt gr + f10  or alt car + f10 while turning on the computer
It will show you - chose an option, continue , troubleshoot
    Go to troubleshoot
It will show you reset this pc - advanced options
click on reset this pc - it will show you keep my files and remove everything.

    Thanks for answering, William!

I will try to do what you recommended firstly when I have the time, currently I am occupied for 2 days straight. I will update here if the first solution works, if not I shall ask some questions regarding the next possible solutions..

Hi, sorry for the late reply, yes I have tried in those web-conferencing applications, and my mic did not work.

Just to add, I can make my system sound as my input in those applications. (This is only for when I want to share a video in a meeting and make it so that they could hear the audio of the video.)

Unfortunately, I haven't tried any of the solution William have given yet. I will post when I have the time to do the solution/s.
