Just updated my old Chromebook with a new Acer Chromebook 315 CB315-3HT-C296
VERY disappointed with the sound quality to my external speakers (which sounded very good with my old Acer Chromebook).

Anyone else experience this with this particular model?
I am beyond frustrated.

Is the volume low or its the clarity of the sound is bad ?

It's not a volume issue. It's clarity of the sound. While hard to describe accurately, the sound quality on streaming music (which sounded excellent with my older Acer Chromebook) is just not clean. I even bought a new set of externals thinking maybe that was the issue. It isn't.

Any chance the jack just isn't quite fully seated? That could allow for some static bleed from the ground...

Try this this and check the sound clarity. Turn off the chromebook and press and hold the Refresh  + tap Power  for 30 seconds and than check

Thanks for the suggestion - but that isn't the issue unfortunately.

If I did that correctly it does seem to have helped. I think.  What exactly would the Refresh/Power combo have done?
