Hi, I'm starting to use an Acer Nitro 5 and first of all, reading the manual, I would like to prepare what is useful for a possible recovery (data, programs, system) and not everything is clearly defined in the Nitro 5 AN515-45 / AN515 user manual -56 / AN515-57 / AN517-41 / AN517-53 / AN517-54 version 02/2021 (page 28 and following) from which I report:

Creating a File History BackupRecovery Management allows you to backup/restore files.

Recovery Management allows you to backup/restore files.
Q: I think that with "file" means personal data folders/files, therefore it is equivalent and can replace the backup performed with one of the many programs available, even free?

Create a factory default backup

Recovery Drive - Recovery Drive allows you to back up your operating system, installed applications and data.
Q: is this the same as the classic creation of a bootable OS recovery stick?
why it is said "installed applications and data"? what exactly does it save: OS, programs pre-installed by Acer, user programs, data (which ones?)?
the recovery drive obtained with the Windows Media Tool does not save personal files, settings and programs that are not preinstalled.

Reset your PC and keep files

...
3.Click [Get started] for [Choose an option]. Select [Keep my files] to update the PC and reinstall the operating system without removing personal files.
Important: The applications installed on the PC will also be removed. In order not to restore the applications and settings supplied with the PC, ....
Q: by saying "will also be removed ..." I think it only means personal ones, since there it is said "In order not to restore ...", is that so?

4.Resetting your PC will reinstall Windows, restore the settings to factory defaults, and remove all pre-installed applications and programs ....
Q: the terminology can be deceiving, by "pre-installed" we generally mean the pre-installed applications supplied by the manufacturer and supplied with the PC; here we mean: personal applications and programs installed after purchase?
therefore, in essence, the PC will be restored to the factory default state, obviously without having removed the personal data files?

Reset your PC by removing everything

....
3.Click [Get started] for [Choose an option]. Select [Remove everything] to restore the PC to factory defaults.
Q: So in essence, will the PC be restored to its pure factory default state, removing personal data files as well?
 4.Click [Change settings] ....
Q: the screen reads "Do not clean the drive": what does it mean?

File History gives you a backup of your data files, but not the OS or applications.
Factory default backup gives you the same environment the system had when you turned it on the first time after purchase.
Reset and keep reinstalls Windows over the current environment, keeping your data files but removes your applications, including the Acer specific ones.
Reset and remove reinstalls Windows and gives you a default environment, again removing apps as well as data.

OK, do a traditional backup of my personal data files/folders.

Factory default backup gives you the same environment the system had when you turned it on the first time after purchase.

That is, it saves the OS + all factory pre-installed apps/data, but creates a bootable recovery stick?

That is, it saves the OS keeping all my folders/data (not my apps installed after purchase), but ..
... what exactly about the Acer factory apps, as it is said "In order not to restore the applications and settings supplied with the PC go to [Change settings] and disable the option to not restore pre-installed applications available on your PC before continuing with the restore"
it seems that those apps are backupped and only then you can choose not to restore them!
Further: does it get a bootable recovery stick?
